ASL/English Interpreter

I have worked as a Sign Language interpreter in New York City since 1993 and received my Certificate of Interpretation in 1997. I earned my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Hunter College in 2001, where I garnered the Academy of American Poets Award, among other honors. I have served on the board of New York City Metro RID, contributed to Views, and am a co-founder of the Deaf/Interpreter Relations Committee, which seeks to bridge the Deaf and interpreter communities through open dialogue. My on- and off-Broadway interpreting credits include Birthday Candles, I Need That, Is It Thursday Yet?, The Wanderers, Here There Are Blueberries, The Counter and Pirates! A Penzance Musical.  I taught interpreting at LaGuardia Community College's ASL/English Interpreting Program and I travel nationally presenting professional development workshops to the interpreting community.
